But the Karbi Anglong police went tough against gamblers and bookies even during Diwali.
Diphu police have rounded up at least 14 gamblers from two locations, from an auto rickshaw showroom at Dillaji and the Chingthur Club at Shivbari and registered case no. 235/18, 236/18 U/S 14, 15, 16 and 17 of Assam Game and Betting Act.
Diphu police carried out raids in the evening on Tuesday.
