Ahead of the publication of the final draft of National Register of Citizen (NRC) in Assam, the Naga Students Federation (NSF) has demanded the Nagaland government to take necessary steps to monitor the entry and exit of migrants/immigrants in the state.
The final draft of the NRC in Assam is scheduled to be published on July 30.
The organisation in a statement said that the NSF demanded the government a strict mechanism to monitor the entry and exit of migrants/immigrants in the state be taken in view of the publication of NRC in Assam.
The NSF expressed fear that after the publication of NRC in Assam, illegal migrants may enter Nagaland from the neighbouring state if strict measures are not taken up.
The students’ body also appealed the people of the state to remain alert to stop entry of immigrants from Assam.
