The students and teachers of Tripura University took out a joint rally under the banner of ‘Save Constitution and Save Education’.

The university authority did not give permission to conduct such a rally in the institution.

But even after being denied permission, the teachers and the students of the university jointly took out the rally.

Some employees of the Tripura Central University also participated in the rally.

The rally started in front of the university library and culminated in the administration building.

The students and teachers held national flags during the rally.

Talking to media persons, Professor Salim Shah of Tripura Central University said, “Now many universities of our country are facing students’ movement.”

“This will damage the university’s normal life and the education system. The students are facing trouble,” said Prof Shah.

He said, “Our Constitution gives us equality and the right to express our thoughts and ideas. But this Constitution is now under threat. Our rights are also under threat.”

Salim Shah further said, ”If we keep the spirit of our Constitution then such situations would not have appeared in our universities.”

He said they have appealed to everyone to save the Constitution of the country.

“If the Constitution is threatened then our universities will die,” Shah added.
