A health worker has been killed in Tripura.
The incident has taken place at Dasda in Kanchanpur subdivision on Saturday night.
The area falls in North Tripura district.
The health worker has been identified as Durlabh Banik.
He was a multipurpose worker under the health department.
On Saturday night, Banik went to Dashda Bazaar with three of his 3 friends.
There was no electricity at the time of the incident, according to the investigating police.
“he was seriously injured when someone hit him on the head with a sharp weapon,” sources said, adding, “His friends left him on the spot.. Locals later took him to Dashda Primary Health Centre.”
As his condition was serious, so he was immediately shifted to Dharmanagar Hospital at night.
“Bleeding continued from his head. Arrangements were made to send Durlabh to the GBP hospital at Agartala from Dharmanagar. But he died on the way to GBP hospital,” sources further said.
Police have arrested Satya Banik and Kajal Roy on charges of being involved in the killing as both of them went to Dashda Bazaar with Durlabh on Saturday night.
“Hasan Mia, the third partner, is now absconding,” sources added.
