Guwahati: Naga political groups on January 31 marked the NSCN Raising Day with commemorative programmes, tributes to fallen Naga heroes, and appeals for unity, discipline, and renewed dedication to the Naga cause.
At the 47th Raising Day held at Camp Hebron, NSCN (I-M) chairman Q. Tuccu urged members to embrace selfless service, discipline, and a renewed commitment to the organisationโs ideals. Extending greetings on the occasion, Tuccu paid homage to those who had laid down their lives for the Naga cause. He said the growth and continuity of NSCN were rooted in the dedication and sacrifices of its members and described the organisationโs development as the product of decades of shared vision and collective effort.
Recalling the period after the demise of the NNC, Tuccu highlighted that significant human and emotional resources were invested in raising NSCN. He noted that the organisation was founded on the principles of sacrifice, discipline, and conviction, built by visionary leaders and forerunners committed to the Naga cause.
Meanwhile, NSCN/GPRN-K Michael also observed the 47th Raising Day at its central office with thanksgiving, devotional services, and a pledge to God. Guest speaker Kilo Kilonser Nokrang Lanu Aier extended greetings, paid tribute to fallen Naga heroes with the sentiment โGone, but never forgotten,โ and recounted the formation of NSCN on January 31, 1980, emphasising its founding objective of achieving a sovereign Naga nation.
Referring to the slogan โNagaland for Christ,โ Aier said that seeking the guidance and grace of God would ultimately help realise the aspirations of the Naga people. He further asserted that the sacrifices and bloodshed of the โindomitable Naga soldiersโ would not be in vain, urging attendees to remain steadfast, uphold the legacy of their forebears, and work collectively toward the vision for the future.
