Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh has inspected the site for the new women’s market (Ima market) coming up at Wabagai in Kakching district.

Singh also interacted with women traders of the existing Ima market at Wagabai and assured them that the new women’s markets coming in different places in the state will provide women with the opportunity to become self-reliant.

Ima means ‘mother’ in Manipuri and ‘Ima markets’ refers to mothers’ market.

The development of Ima markets in every district of Manipur is a step towards empowering our women & attaining PM @narendramodi‘s vision of #AatmaNirbharBharat,” N Biren Singh tweeted.
