“Students must work hard to achieve success in life and must equally engage in academics, sports and cultural activities,” said Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
“Parents and teachers should fulfil their responsibilities to instil human values in the younger generation so that they can become able citizens,” he said.
Sonowal was speaking at the closing ceremony of golden jubilee celebration programme of Na Bhanga Bapuji High School at Puranamati in Golaghat district on Sunday.
Appreciating the role played by the school to spread the light of education in the flood-affected area, Sonowal urged the students to follow the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi for ensuring cleanliness in their surroundings.

He also announced Rs 20 lakh for building a playground in the school under CMSGUY and another Rs 20 lakh for constructing extra classrooms.
Saying that the students have the potential to establish Assam at the world stage he urged them to study at least 10 hours a day to make this dream a reality.
