GIMT Guwahati in association with Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) is organizing an online article writing competition on the theme ‘Role of Science and Technology in the battle against COVID-19 pandemic’.

The event, initiated by the Department of Electrical Engineering, Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT) Guwahati, is being organised under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP-III).

TEQIP is a Government of India project assisted by the World Bank.

The prime objective of the programme is to engage the students in productive activities by providing them with an opportunity to unleash their creativity in finding ways to tackle COVID19 challenges with Science and Technology.

It is hoped that the article writing competition would unfold the literary skills among the students of Class XI and XII (Science stream) of Assam while they explore their creative aspects.

The competition carries a total prize money of Rs. 10,000 besides e-certificates.

“The prize money for the first, second, and third-place winners is Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 2,000 respectively,” the organisers informed.

The students are invited to grab this opportunity with both hands and make the best possible use of the lockdown period by spending quality time.

“The article must be within 3000 words. The scanned copies of the handwritten articles are to be submitted through email at [email protected] on or before June 13, 2020,” the organisers further said.

Participants must possess a valid student Identity Card, the scanned copy of which they may either upload during registration or send to the email address meant for submission of the articles.
