‘Corruption’ and ‘nepotism’ slur has marred the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) education department after it regularised the posts of 432 TET teachers at the primary level in the district.
It has been alleged that KAAC authorities took bribes to regularise the posts and several deserving candidates were left out on purpose.
“When the merit list and the list of selected candidates are compared then one can see that candidates within the first 25 ranks in the merit list did not qualify in the list of selected candidates,” alleged a candidate left out of the final list.
“Moreover, Muslim candidates have been completely sidelined even after their names appearing in the merit list,” the candidate seeking anonymity added.
“Corruption at this highest level has shattered our confidence fully. The authorities selected their preferred candidates even after they failed to make an entry in the merit list,” alleged a few rejected candidates.
