Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi on Thursday contributed one monthโ€™s gross salary amounting to Rs 3,50,000 to the Chief Ministerโ€™s Relief Fund to support the Assam governmentโ€™s operations against the coronavirus outbreak.

It may be noted that Governorโ€™s principal private secretary S N Bhowmick handed over the cheque to the chief minister at the latterโ€™s office chamber in Janata Bhawan on behalf of the Governor.

The Governor also appealed to all to contribute generously to the Chief Ministerโ€™s Relief Fund and also extend support to the government by avoiding social gathering and showing solidarity with Prime Minister Narendra Modiโ€™s call for a nationwide lockdown to break the vicious chain of infection induced by the novel coronavirus.
