One more patient succumbed to Covid19 infection in Lower Assam’s Dhubri district, taking the district’s death toll to 58 while 32 people tested positive in the last 24 hours.

The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Mukhtar Hussain Mondal, a resident of Bangalipara in Bilasipara town.

A total of 1501 samples were tested, out of which 32 samples (including one from West Bengal) tested positive on Sunday.

With the new cases, the Dhubri district’s total Covid19 positive tally increased to 5,411 on Sunday.

The district currently has 654 active Covid19 cases.

So far, a total of 4,699 people have recovered from the disease and discharged in the district.

Meanwhile, the Dhubri district administration is all set to carry out a huge vaccination drive from Monday (June 21, 2021).

The drive will be carried out in 82 vaccination centers across the district, with a target to cover 15,000 people per day.

The district administration also has a target to inoculate at least 200 people at each centre per day by felicitating on the spot registration.

In order to smooth functioning of the mega vaccination drive, the Dhubri district administration organized a training programme for the concerned staffs.

The day-long training programme, held at the conference hall of Dhubri Zila Parishad on Sunday, was participated by the block level accountants of the education department, computer instructors of different schools and the members of National Rural Livelihood Mission.

The mega vaccination drive will start from 8 am in the morning and remain open till all people arriving there receive the Covid19 vaccine.
