The Indian Air Force (IAF) and the civil administration of Arunachal Pradesh have started search and rescue operation early Tuesday morning of the AN-32 aircraft that remained missing since Monday afternoon.
Defence PRO, Wing Commander Ratnakar Singh on Tuesday said that search and rescue operation (SAR) has resumed as weather cleared up.

He said that two MI 17s and one ALH have been already deployed with the ground party of Army and ITBP to trace the missing aircraft and added that more assets may be deployed depending on requirement.
The AN 32 aircraft with 13 air warriors on board went airborne from the Jorhat airbase on Monday afternoon and lost contact with the ground agencies around 1300 hours.

It was scheduled for landing at the Mechuka advanced landing ground in Arunachal Pradesh, close to Indo-China border.
Although there are some reports of crash of an aircraft in some remote area between West Siang district and Shi Yomi district, the ground as well as air search teams are yet to come across any wreckage till Monday evening.
