Noted Assam designer Anuradha Kuli is all set to showcase her designs at the Silk Road International Exposition (SRIE) to be held in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, People’s Republic of China.
The Silk Road International Exposition (SRIE) will be held from May 11-15. She will showcase her naturally dyed handloom Mekhela Chador and Saree at the SRIE.

SRIE is being hosted by China’s National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, all China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
The exposition will exhibit products like food items, cosmetics and welfare supplies along with services like sightseeing and dining out.
Anuradha Kuli has been invited as the only craftsperson from India by the Shaanxi Women’s Federation to showcase her collections and she will also address the delegates and participants present on the occasion.

Anuradha said, “I was invited twice earlier but I was unable to go as I didn’t get the permission. But this year, I finally got permission to go there and showcase my creations at an international event. I am very grateful to be chosen to help promote our state glovbally.”
Medha Saikia, Founder President at Northeast India Fashion and Design Council (FNDC) expressed her appreciation for Anuradha’s works and congratulated her for taking Assamese handloom to greater heights.
Designer Anuradha Kuli, the founder of Naturally Anuradha, specializes in traditional ethnic wear from Assam and believes in creating magic from eri silk, indigo and turmeric dye. Her designs have reached worldwide audience, travelled to places like United Kingdom, San Francisco and Santa Fe.
Renowned Indian personalities like Sonia Gandhi, Jaya Bachchan, Vidya Balan and Kiran Kher have also worn her designs.
Previously she had also showcase her creations at the Lakme Fashion Week, Mumbai; Festival of Traditional Weaves, Santa Fe, and various other international platforms. Her works have gained acclamation globally and she has been the recipient of National Award from the Ministry of Textiles.
