The Chief Minister Renal Replacement Society (CMRRS), an initiative of the Arunachal Pradesh government, has been awarded the SKOCH Award for Northeast in excellence in healthcare category.
CMRRS provides financial aid to the patients of the state who undergo kidney transplant.
The award was received by Health Services director Dr Moromor Lego along with state epidemiologist Dr Lobsang Jampa and CMRRS member Dr Dipu Lowang on behalf of the state government during the 62nd SKOCH Summit held in New Delhi recently.
More than 14 patients have so been benefitted since the establishment of CMRRS on January 29 this year and more than 10 patients have applied for the scheme.
Besides financial aid to the patients undergoing renal transplant, the CMRRS’ objective is to provide available resources and dissemination of information to people in need, act as consultant for the needy in field of renal transplant and support the patient with necessary facilitation.
Instituted in 2003, the SKOCH Award is the highest civilian honour in the country conferred by an independent organisation, the SKOCH Group.
