The Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) Project office of Udalguri district in Assam organized a two-day training programme.

The training programme for ‘Capacity Building of Student Volunteers’ is being organized under Mahila Shakti Kendra of Government of India.

The training programme concluded on Wednesday at the auditorium hall of Directorate of Health Services in Udalguri.

The programme was formally inaugurated by Prakash Ranjan Gharphaliya, Deputy commissioner of Udalguri district.

In his inaugural speech, Gharphaliya appealed to the youths to volunteer themselves for community services at village level and to help the needy villagers in the need of the hour.

The two-day programme was anchored by Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of Udalguri, Nilakshi Bordoloi while Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) supervisors Illi Deka Brahma and Kalpana Basumatary and district coordinator of Mahila Shakti Kendra Mainak Boro and Mahila Shakti Kendra, Punam Khakhlary imparted training to a total of 75 student volunteers as resource persons respectively.

The participant student volunteers expressed their satisfaction after the training and told this correspondent that the two-day training not only created self-awareness and self-confidence but at the same time the training also made them aware of their basic rights and duties to serve the nation voluntarily by taking role in the village level community services.
