A girl from Arunachal Pradesh asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the importance of fundamental duties during the third edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha 2020’ event at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi on Monday.
Responding to the girl’s question, Modi said that the importance of fundamental duties was stated by Mahatma Gandhi.
“There’s a fine connection between our rights and responsibilities. Our rights are directly dependent on the responsibilities performed by others. If a teacher performs his responsibility in the right way, the students’ right to learn is secure,” he added.
“Today, I am talking to students who would be playing a key role in India’s development in 2047, when we mark a hundred years since independence. I hope this generation takes it upon themselves to act on some of the fundamental duties enshrined in our Constitution,” he further said.
During the event, the prime minister urged the people to go for on a vacation in Northeast.
“I want all of you to go to the Northeast on vacation if you can. Our country is amazing. It must be experienced,” said Modi.
He also said Arunachal Pradesh is the only state in India in which people greet each other with ‘Jai Hind’ whenever they meet each other.
“Arunachal Pradesh is the only state in India in which people greet each other with ‘Jai Hind’ whenever they meet each other. This is rare,” he added.
Modi motivated the students by giving different kinds of advice to them in the event.
Over 1000 students attended the event that started from 11 am on Monday.
The students who attended the event were shortlisted on the basis of essays submitted by them on five subjects — Gratitude is Great, Your Future Depends on Your Aspirations, Examining Exams, Our Duties, Your Take, and Balance is Beneficial.
