In an interactive session with the students of JNV Darrang in Assam, the deputy commissioner Ghanshyam Dass, on Wednesday advised the students to walk on the path of perseverance for a bright future.

The deputy commissioner who is also the chairman of the Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC) urged the students to be more involved in studies which can only enable them to acquire depth of knowledge.

He reminded the students that success never comes from comfort zones.

“Only hard work and perseverance can help a person to reach the goal. Strive for progress, not for perfection,” he asserted.

The interactive session was also attended by Amrit Bhuyan, superintendent of police, Darrang.

He told that discipline is the key to success.

“Discipline turns ability to achievement,” the superintendent of police said.

Earlier on the day, the deputy commissioner and superintendent of police, few other high officials from the relevant development departments of the district including joint director, Health Services, Dr Ruplal Nunisa; district information and public relations officer, Manimala Gogoi; Bijay Saikia, executive engineer, PWD Roads Mangaldai Division; Pawan Baruah, assistant executive engineer, PHE, Mangaldai; Dr Ramesh Ch Goswami, SDM&HO besides local PRI members attended the VMC meeting.

Different issues related to the improving academic atmosphere and infrastructure development of the MoHRD, Govt of India run lone residential institution were discussed.

An amount of Rs three lakh was stated to have sanctioned from Tengabari Village under 14th Finance Commission for solving the long pending problem of water of the students.

It may be mentioned that high iron content in the water is a major problem in this Vidyalaya.

In the meeting, the necessity of the internal road carpeting was also discussed.

Regarding the installing of solar heater panels, the deputy commissioner assured the principal of all possible measures.

The principal P Rajesh apprised about the achievements and different activities taken place in the Vidyalaya through the annual report and a power point presentation.

He especially highlighted the improvement in the result in CBSE board examination in the last two years.

It is a matter of pride that CBSE has selected Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya as the hub of learning and Principal P Rajesh as the co-ordinator to facilitate equality in the quality of education in the entire CBSE affiliated vidyalayas in the district.

The principal also informed the VMC members present as to how in this year’s JNVST -JNV Darrang set a new record in Shillong region with highest online registration.

The members expressed happiness and satisfaction at the CBSE Class X and XII results in the year 2019.

They hoped that the Vidyalaya will soon be the best in the entire Shillong region under the dynamic leadership of the principal P Rajesh.

In the meeting, the members congratulated P Rajesh for being conferred the most prestigious National Award for Teachers by President Ramnath Kovind on the occasion of the last teachers’ day celebration.
