Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati has been ranked as the sixth-best institution in India in the academic sector by the prestigious Nature Index for 2019-20.
As per the Nature Index, IIT Guwahati has been ranked as the fifth-best chemistry institution in the country.
The institution also emerged as the seventh-best physical sciences and the ninth-best life sciences institute in the country.
IIT Guwahati has been ranked 350th in the overall world category in the Nature Index Annual Ranking 2020.
The institute achieved 68 counts and a share percentage of 37.41, according to the Nature Index ranking system.
The Nature Index mentions five research articles as some of the top ones that have been prepared by the prestigious institute.
‘Engineered peptidic constructs metabolize amyloid-beta by self-assembly driven reactions’ has been chosen as the best article of the institute.
The second and third best articles of the institute as chosen by Nature Index include ‘A stimuli-responsive anticancer drug delivery system with inherent antibacterial activities’ and ‘Hydrogen by Deuterium substitution in an aldehyde tunes the regioselectivity by nonheme manganese (III)-preoxo complex’ respectively.
The fourth and fifth-best articles of the institute as chosen by Nature Index include ‘Tuning the solubility of ionophores: glutathione mediated transport of chloride ions across hydrophobic membranes’ and ‘Sustainable synthesis of quinazoline and 2-aminoquinoline via dehydrogenative coupling of 2-amino benzyl alcohol and nitrile catalyzed by phosphine-free manganese pincer complex’ respectively.
