Amid lockdown, people in Bangalore on Wednesday afternoon were caught panic-stricken.
A thunderous sound was heard in many areas on Wednesday afternoon in Bangalore.
The loud boom was initially heard in Whitefield area, at nearly 1:45 pm.
The sound was heard from the international airport.
The loud sound was heard as far as Cooke Town, Vivek Nagar, Ramamurthy Nagar, Hosur Road, Old Madras Road, Ulsoor, Kammanahalli, CV Raman Nagar, and the HSR Layout.

Some said they heard a boom, and a thunderous noise, while others felt their homes were shaking and windowpanes rattling.
People felt their windowpanes rattling for more than five seconds.
People initially thought it was an earthquake.
Quickly, some residents took to Twitter, wondering if an earthquake had hit the tech-capital of India.
However, Srinivas Reddy, director, Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre confirmed that it was not an earthquake.
Speculations were rife among the Twitterati that the ‘sonic boom’-like sound was due to a fighter jet.
However, the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has rejected the reports, saying it had nothing do to with the mysterious sound.
Police are also yet to ascertain the source of the noise that has unnerved the garden city.
Police even searched the Whitefield area and have found no damage.
