A special Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft on Thursday evacuated 23 Bangladeshi nationals from Wuhan city of China which is the epicentre of Covid19 or coronavirus.
Sources said these Bangladeshi people are amongst a total of 112 people who were brought back to India by a special IAF aircraft in New Delhi and taken to the ITBP’s quarantine camp at Chawala.
The group includes 76 Indians and 36 foreign nationals including 8 family members and 5 children.
The group of foreign nationals includes 23 from Bangladesh, 6 from China, 2 each from Myanmar and Maldives, and 1 each from Madagascar, South Africa, and the US.

After the first (Thermal) screening at the isolation bay at the airport, these fresh arrivals were taken to the Chhawla camp on the ITBP buses.
“All the people were given all the basic facilities required at the centre as done with a previous lot of evacuees. Daily monitoring and check-ups will also be undertaken by the ITBP medicos,” ITBP spokesperson Vivek Pandey said.

No one has been tested with any coronavirus symptoms till now.
“The expected quarantine period is 14 days plus from today,” he said.
This quarantine camp was prepared by the ITBP in just 48 hours prior to the arrival of the first batch from Wuhan on February 1.
Earlier, ITBP successfully dispatched 406 people after proper quarantine.
Simultaneously, as many as 124 people have also been evacuated from Cruise Ship Diamond Princess in Japan including 119 Indian citizens and five nationals from Sri Lanka, Nepal, South Africa & Peru by Air India flight.
They will be placed in quarantine at the Manesar camp of the Indian Army.
