A woman reportedly died by suicide at Sauratali in Sepahijala district of Tripura.
The victim Sharmin Akhter, reportedly committed suicide by hanging after being repeatedly harassed and blackmailed by Mahbul Hossain, also a resident of Sauratali.
It was Sharmin’s young daughter, who discovered her body and began screaming.
Hearing her scream, other family members gathered at the spot and took the victim to the Boxanagar Social Health Center.
From there she was referred to the Tripura Medical College and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital at Agartala, where the doctor declared her brought dead.
Following autopsy the body was handed over to her family.

The 25-year-old victim is survived by two daughters and husband Kamal Hossain, who works in Saudi Arabia.
According to sources, Sharmin informed her husband about Mahbul repeatedly harassing and blackmailing her.
This resulted in arguments between the couple.
Kamal reportedly stopped sending money to his wife after he came to know about a few local youths making passes at her.
Unable to bear this, the victim eventually ended her life.
A higher police official said, “We will begin the investigations as soon as the deceased’s family lodges a complaint as it is a matter of blackmailing.
