Tripura government has increased complete lockdown for five more days till August 4.

This was announced by Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Wednesday evening.

Chief minister Deb said the lockdown will continue till 5 am on August 4.

The three-day complete lockdown started in the state on Monday morning.

It will end at 5 am on Thursday.

But the announcement of the extension of the lockdown on Wednesday evening, the complete lockdown will now continue from July 30-August 4.

The chief minister said, “The lockdown should be for 8 days. If it is less then 8 days, then it will be meaningless.”

The chief minister appealed to every citizens of the state to stay inside their homes and obey the norms of complete lockdown.

He urged everyone to help the poor and needy people during the period of lockdown.

Deb said 21 people have died of COVID19 infections in Tripura.

He said, “12,000 people are now working in the field for the door-to-door survey.”

The door-to-door survey for COVID19 started in the state from Monday.
