Condolence messages from all quarters of Northeast poured in when the news of theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking’s death spread like a wildfire on Wednesday.

The death of Stephen Hawking coincided with the birthday of another great scientist, Albert Einstein.
He suffered from ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) a neurodegenerative disease which left him wheelchair-bound.
But Hawking overcame a debilitating disease to publish many popular books probing the mysteries of the universe. He was also a cosmologist, astronomer, mathematician.
