The slain NSCN (KK) cadre.

The NSCN (I-M) today clarified that it was not involved in the alleged killing of NSCN (KK) cadre Jomie Konyak in a jungle near Chatung village in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh on February 28.

“This is to clarify that NSCN is not involved in any factional fighting in Longding district. We have nothing to do with Jomie Konyak’s killing,” the ministry of information and publicity of the outfit said in a release.

The NSCN has issued the clarification following the news floating on social media and other print media alleging that it was involved in the killing.

The release said it was reported a fierce gun battle took place last Sunday in a jungle near Chatung village in Longding district and the NSCN (KK) member was killed in that firing by suspected NSCN members.

The NSCN suspected that certain forces are putting the blame on it to tarnish its image in the eyes of the Naga people as most often done allegedly by the Assam Rifles in the course of its “smear campaign against NSCN”.
