Nagaland Directorate of Health & Family Welfare has issued a list of FAQs (frequently asked questions) and responses on the Coronavirus or 2019-nCov, which is a new virus first identified at Wuhan of Hubei Province in China.

According to reports, in the FAQ, principal director, DH & FW Dr Vizolie Z Suokhrie informed that anyone who has travel history to China or the affected countries in the last 14 days should self declare or report to the numbers -7005415243/ 9856071745/ 7005539653 and also contact for more information.

Dr Soukhrie also said if one develops acute onset of fever and symptoms of respiratory illness such as cough or shortness of breath, he or she should visit the nearest health facility where the doctor will decide if a test for 2019 novel Coronavirus is needed depending on the history of travel to China/affected countries or contact with any suspected/lab confirmed case.

On the treatments available for the virus, Dr Soukhrie said there is no specific anti-viral treatment available for 2019- novel Coronavirus infection.

People infected with 2019- novel Coronavirus should receive supportive care to help relieve symptoms.

However, one may receive antibiotics since bacterial co-infection is possible.
