In a statement, CEC member Kh Salouni said ‘the mandated NNC and the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) had always upheld the policy of non-violence and maintained peace and tranquillity with all neighbouring people and nations, and shall continue to do the same’.
In this regard, Salouni said, ‘Paresh Baruah, an undergound activist of Assam/Asom, has been excluded from the goodwill gesture’ of the NNC/FGN due to his blind and baseless allegation against Phizo, father of the Naga nation, without any reason or provocation.
It clarified that neither the NNC nor Phizo had ever mentioned or written anything against Baruah, despite Baruah taking shelter in the eastern sector of Nagaland.
