Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) of Nagaland has congratulated Narendra Modi after taking the oath of office and secrecy as the 15th Prime Minister of the country on Thursday evening.

The NDPP also expressed their good wishes to the council of ministers who were also administered the oath of office and secrecy by President of India Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
In a press statement issued by the NDPP media and communication cell stated that the party ‘joined the nation in celebrating the huge mandate given by the people of India to the Modi government for the second consecutive time’.
As an alliance partner of the NDA and NEDA, it said the NDPP-led PDA government in Nagaland looked forward to the world’s largest democracy evolving into a recognized power in the international arena under the dynamic leadership of the Prime Minister on the foundation of a ‘secular, democratic, republic’ which made India a great nation.
Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio also took to Twitter to congratulate Modi and his new council of ministers. In his official Twitter handle, Rio wrote:

The ruling alliance also assured Prime Minister Modi of its total support towards ‘realizing genuine peace through a political solution that is honourable and acceptable to the people’.
The NDPP further reaffirmed their fullest cooperation along with the PDA government in striving towards ‘our common goals of nation building and improving the welfare of the people’.
