According to the home minister, the inconvenience faced by those who sponsored non-tribal for obtaining ILP will be easily solved with the help of the new portal.

He said that sponsor will be able to trace their clients to verify that they do not misuse their permits.

In the past, many non-tribals had entered the state with fake ILPs, which forced the state government to launch ILP portal and mobile apps, he said.

Temporary and regular ILP can be applied only through the newly launched portal from now onward and sponsors have to furnish complete bio-data, including EPIC number.

The system will put a check on the minimum number of ILP that can be issued to outsiders and sponsors will have to monitor their clients to ascertain that they return to their native places after completing the purpose they came for.

ILP holders will have to report to police check gate before returning to their places.

ILP card will be issued along with ID card on A4 size paper encrypted with Quick Response Code (QR code), which will facilitate detection of fake ILP when scanned.

The new portal can be accessed through  ilp.mizoram.gov.in

ILP is an official travel document issued to Indian citizens for entry into protected areas.
