The Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles on Saturday conducted an awareness campaign on drugs on the occasion of ‘International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’ at Serchhip in Mizoram.
The theme this year is “Share Facts on Drugs, Save Lives”. The theme promotes combating misinformation and sharing durgs related facts and solutions for treatment to fight against drug abuse.
During the awareness campaign the Assam Rifles personnel interacted with locals and explained to them about the ill effects of consuming drugs.

The medical officer of the battalion appealed to the addicts to make an effort to shun the use of narcotic substances and combat misinformation in local language. He explained to them about drug addiction and its various side effects on mental and physical health.
On the other hand, the Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles shared an informative video on drug abuse through a social media platform in all villages of Lunglei, Lawngtlai and Saiha districts in Mizoram on the occasion.
