The third phase of Mizoram Kailawn, Business Plan Contest and E-Summit initiated by the Government of Mizoram in partnership with IIM Calcutta Innovation Park was launched by the chief secretary of Mizoram Lalnunmawia Chuaungo in Aizawl on Monday.
Mizoram chief secretary Lalnunmawia Chuaungo who is also the chairman of Mizoram State Entrepreneurship Development Monitoring Committee (MEDMOC), launched the programme at the Aijal Club.
The Chief Secretary, in his inaugural speech, congratulated the efforts of the Mizoram Government and IIM Calcutta Innovation Park to promote entrepreneurship among young, budding, business aspirants.
He said that it gives him high hope to see the Mizo youth coming up with innovative ideas and succeeding in their chosen field and areas of interest.
Our approach should be development of ecosystem for entrepreneurs; to choose what is viable and sustainable, and not to be individual centric, he said.
The chief secretary also said that focusing on promoting entrepreneurship atmosphere should continue, so that more and more youngsters may choose to make a conscious decision to hone their skills and pursue entrepreneurship.
This will in turn generate employment and contribute towards development of our economy, he said.
Saying that academic brilliance is not the only factor to be successful in business but rather the spirit of entrepreneurship, passion and perseverance, Lalnunmawia encouraged the youth to follow their dreams and passion, not to be afraid of failure but to take it as a stepping stone.
