The Shillong Autumn Festival is back after a halt in the last few years, and the picturesque Water Sports Complex at Orchid Resort in Umïam would be reverberated this coming week.
Opus Productions will organize the two-day event on October 26 and 27, replacing the Meghalaya Tourism Development Forum that had organized the festival since 2006 to 2012.
The Autumn festival started in 2006 but discontinued five years ago due to various reasons.
Opus Productions members, Alethea Lyngwa on Saturday expressed confidence that the dream to make Shillong Autumn Festival a big event in the coming years would fructify and maintain its standard.
The highlights of the festival will be music and entertainment with a kids’ zone, traditional food items and water sports featuring at the resort.
“We want to ensure that the festival remains a family-oriented event,” Lyngwa said.
Another Opus Productions member Andreas War said the festival would mostly highlight local bands.
Among other musical bands that will perform in the festival include Avora Records, Blue Temptation, Black Jack, Wavelength, Roots Reggae Band, Colours, Emperical Tribe, Different Matters, Ribor Mb Productions, besides DJs.
