Rajya Sabha MP from Meghalaya, Wansuk Syiem, has donated her one month’s salary towards the Meghalaya Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to combat COVID19.
On Tuesday, parliamentarian Wansuk Syiem handed over a cheque amounting to Rs. 1.10 lakh to Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma.

Sharing an image of handing over the chque, the Meghalaya Chief Minister ‘s Office (CMO) on its Twitter handle stated: Wansuk Syiem, the Hon’ble Rajya Sabha MP has donated her one month’s salary amounting to Rs. 1 Lakh 10 thousand towards the Meghalaya Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.”
“Thank you Kong Wansuk for helping us in the #COVID19 fight,” it added.

On Monday, Shillong Lok Sabha MP Vincent H Pala also donated an amount of Rs 1 lakh, which is his one month’s salary towards the Meghalaya Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to fight COVID19.
In a letter to the branch manager of the State Bank of India, Parliament House, New Delhi, Pala authorised the bank to debit an amount of Rs 1 lakh from his account and credit the same to the Meghalaya Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) Account No: 38617186405SBI, Meghalaya Secretariat Branch, Shillong.
The Meghalaya Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has thanked the Shillong MP for his gesture.
The CMO tweeted: “Thanks to the Hon’ble MP Sh. @vincentpala for donating his one month’s salary amounting to Rs.1 Lakh towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.”
Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma recently urged all to extend financial support to help the needy during the 21-day lockdown and generously contribute towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).
The chief minister had tweeted: “Let’s all stand united to champion #COVID2019 and help one another especially during the #21daylockdown.”
“We are #StrongerTogether.”
The Meghalaya chief minister requested the people to donate online.
