Rajya Sabha MP from Meghalaya, Wansuk Syiem, has donated her one monthโ€™s salary towards the Meghalaya Chief Ministerโ€™s Relief Fund (CMRF) to combat COVID19.

On Tuesday, parliamentarian Wansuk Syiem handed over a cheque amounting to Rs. 1.10 lakh to Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma.

Sharing an image of handing over the chque, the Meghalaya Chief Minister โ€˜s Office (CMO) on its Twitter handle stated: Wansuk Syiem, the Honโ€™ble Rajya Sabha MP has donated her one monthโ€™s salary amounting to Rs. 1 Lakh 10 thousand towards the Meghalaya Chief Ministerโ€™s Relief Fund.โ€

โ€œThank you Kong Wansuk for helping us in the #COVID19 fight,โ€ it added.

On Monday, Shillong Lok Sabha MP Vincent H Pala also donated an amount of Rs 1 lakh, which is his one monthโ€™s salary towards the Meghalaya Chief Ministerโ€™s Relief Fund (CMRF) to fight COVID19.

In a letter to the branch manager of the State Bank of India, Parliament House,  New Delhi, Pala authorised the bank to debit an amount of Rs 1 lakh from his account and credit the same to the Meghalaya Chief Ministerโ€™s Relief Fund (CMRF) Account No: 38617186405SBI, Meghalaya Secretariat Branch, Shillong.

The Meghalaya Chief Ministerโ€™s  Office (CMO) has thanked the Shillong MP for his gesture.

The CMO tweeted: โ€œThanks to the Honโ€™ble MP Sh. @vincentpala for donating his one monthโ€™s salary amounting to Rs.1 Lakh towards the Chief Ministerโ€™s Relief Fund.โ€

Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma recently urged all to extend financial support to help the needy during the 21-day lockdown and generously contribute towards the Chief Ministerโ€™s Relief Fund (CMRF).

The chief minister had tweeted: โ€œLetโ€™s all stand united to champion #COVID2019 and help one another especially during the #21daylockdown.โ€

โ€œWe are #StrongerTogether.โ€

The Meghalaya chief minister requested the people to donate online.
