In view of the COVID19 pandemic, Shillong Lok Sabha MP Vincent H Pala has donates Rs 1 lakh to the Meghalaya Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).
In a letter to the branch manager of the State Bank of India, Parliament House, New Delhi, Pala authorised the bank to debit an amount of Rs 1 lakh from his account and credit the same to the Meghalaya Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) Account No: 38617186405SBI, Meghalaya Secretariat Branch, Shillong.
The Congress MP has also recommended Rs 1 crore from the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) to combat COVID19.

Giving his consent to release the fund, the Shillong MP and former Union minister recently issued a recommendation letter to the deputy commissioner of East Khasi Hills.
In the letter, the MP mentioned that he has recommended that the amount be used for provisions of ventilators, masks, preventive suits, testing kits and any other devices required for the director of health services, the government of Meghalaya.
He said the amount under MPLADS should be used for purchasing of testing, screening, and other facilities in view of the outbreak of COVID19.
“The above works may please be got scrutinized and technical, financial and administrative sanction issued within 45 days of receipt of this letter. The sanctioned works should be completed quickly as per the provisions of the MPLADS guidelines,” the MP said.
