Imphal: Central security forces and Manipur Police arrested three insurgents, two women and a man, in coordinated counter-insurgency operations across two districts, officials reported on Saturday.
In the first operation, the joint forces arrested an active cadre of the proscribed Kanglei Yaol Kanna LupโSocialist Revolutionary Party (KYKL-SOREPA) from the Hiyangthang area under Wangoi Police Station in Imphal West district.
The accused was identified as Huidrom Narendra Singh (38), alias Pathou, alias Abung, alias Lucky, a resident of Hiyanglam Waikhom Leikai in Kakching district. A mobile phone was seized from his possession.
In a second operation, a female active cadre of the Peopleโs Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) was apprehended from the Wangkhei Konung Mamang area under Porompat Police Station in Imphal East district.
She was identified as Konsam Thoi Devi (33), alias Nanao, alias Naobi, a resident of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai, currently residing at Khergao Jail Leirak in Imphal East. A mobile phone was also recovered from her possession.
In a third operation, another active woman cadre of PREPAK (PRO), identified as Longjam Jenevi (34), alias Thoithoibi Devi of Pishum Oinam Leikai in Imphal West, was arrested from the Thongjao Mayai Leikai area along the Indo-Myanmar Sugnu Road under Waikhong Police Station in Kakching district.
The arrested persons, along with the seized items, were handed over to the respective police stations for further legal proceedings, the report added.
