The NSCN (IM) has refuted the allegations of running a gun making factory in Ukhrul in Manipur.
Responding to a recent news report on Assam Rifles personnel busting a gun making factory in Ukhrul town allegedly run by NSCN operative on July 1, NSCN (I-M) stated that it has ‘nothing to do with such illegal factory’.

A press release by the MIP, NSCN/GPRN further clarified that the suspected person Lightson who owned the factory is ‘not an NSCN member nor connected with them in any manner’.
It added that the Assam Rifles should not have acted in ‘damning hurry to drag in NSCN name without verifying the antecedents of the person involved’.
It further alleged that such ‘slanderous campaign by the Assam Rifles against NSCN is nothing new’.
