As many as eleven opposition parties in Manipur have joined hands to launch a massive 11-day agitation against policies of the government.

This agitation, the opposition parties said, is in support of the 11-day nationwide protest being called by 19 parties “to save the republican, secular and democratic order of the nation”.

This massive agitation by the opposition parties in Manipur comes amid preparations by the parties for the Assembly elections in the state next year.

The parties that have launched the stir in Manipur are: Congress, CPI, MPP, NCP, JD-S, CPI-M, RSP, AITC, BSP, PRJA and AIFB.

The Manipur Congress said that during the course of the agitation, the parties would highlight the failures of the NDA government.

The Congress has further accused the BJP-led central government of destroying the secular fabric of the nation.

These parties have demanded further ramping up of COVID-19 vaccine production and vaccination.

They also have demanded for payment of compensation to the families whose member had died due to COVID-19.
