Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe may resign because of his health problems.
Local media reports in Tokyo said on Friday that the 66 year old Japanese Prime Minister has decided to abruptly end his tenure.
Though there has been no clear indication on Shizo Abe’s successor, people of Japan are worried with the unexpected news.
The unexpected news had an immediate impact on the Tokyo stock market. As per reports, the market plunged by more than two percent.
As per reports, Shinzo Abe had two hospital visits during the last few days for some kind of an unspecified ailment.
Earlier in 2007, Shinzo Abe had stepped down as Prime Minister of Japan because of ulcerative colitis.
In 2012, he returned as Prime Minister as his health conditions had improved with the help of new set of medication.
However, government spokesman Yoshihide Suga claimed that Prime Minister Abe is in good health, and there is no immediate plan for resignation.
Shinzo Abe’s term as Prime Minister of Japan ends in September 2021.
People in India are also worried about Shinzo Abe’s health conditions as he is always seen to be a close friend of India.
Abe was scheduled to visit India in December last year because of the Indo-Japan Summit in Guwahati.
Unfortunately, the summit had to be cancelled because of a political unrest over the passing of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.
