Kendriya Vidyalaya Khanapara

The principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara in Guwahati was arrested by the sleuths of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) late Tuesday evening in connection with a bribery case.

Earlier, a CBI team had raided the Kendriya Vidyalaya Khanapara in Guwahati and questioned the principal, Rajesh Dhawan relating to a bribery case.

Sources said the sleuths of the central investigating agency landed at the school premises and questioned the principal of the Central school, Rajesh Dhawan.

Principal Dhawan was grilled by the CBI officials at his office chamber in the school at Khanapara, sources added.

According to sources he is being quizzed in connection with a case of accepting bribe from a contractor in Guwahati.

Later, Dhawan was arrested and is now in the custody of the CBI.

Principal Dhawan allegedly demanded a huge amount of money from the contractor for awarding a contract to him for construction of buildings in the school.  Dhawan joined as principal of the school in December 31, 2015.
