The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) said it would whole heartedly extend its support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government in Tripura on an ordinance to reinstate the 10,323 teachers in the State.
CPI-M general secretary Bijan Dhar said that the party will support the State Government ‘irrespective of difference in political ideology’ if it brings an ordinance in the Assembly to save the job of 10,323 teachers facing the axe after June 30.

He also highlighted the contribution of these 10,323 teachers towards the education system of the State all these years.
Meanwhile, the BJP-led government has also expressed worry over the fate of 10,323 teachers as their services are going to expire after June 30.
Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath asserted that the State Government will file a special writ petition before the vacation bench of the Supreme Court to ‘save the jobs’ of these 10,323 teachers.

Dhar, however, was critical over the demolition drive carried out on offices of political parties by the new government. “Around 70 party offices have been bulldozed which is the highest by a particular political party. Does other state government initiates such daredevil exercise? People don’t expect this kind of vindictive attitude”, he said.
Dhar also lashed out at the BJP-IPFT government for not fulfilling its poll promises yet. “Social pension was supposed to be enhanced up to Rs. 2000 as promised in the manifesto. Now, it has been suspended leading to suffering of several people. “MGNREGA works have been stopped in rural areas causing inconvenience to the poor people. It was not supposed to like this as they promised to increase MGNREGA wage”, he added.
