A BSF constable was injured when cattle smugglers attacked him near Indo Bangladesh Border Fence (IBBF) in Tripura on Friday. The cattle smugglers snatched his gun before fleeing to Bangladesh. The incident took place at the BOP Kamthana.

BSF constable Natwar spotted some miscreants trying to smuggle cattle through a breached fence. The smugglers even did not pay attention to him when he had challenged them. To stop the smugglers, he even fired from his Pump Action Gun and lobbed stun grenade. But the smugglers numbering around twenty overpowered Natwar and injured him. They even snatched his Pump Action Gun and escaped towards Bangladesh.

Following the incident, the BSF approached the BGB authorities and thereafter Company and Battalion Commander level meetings were held. Senior officials also rushed to the spot and strong protest on the happenings of the incident was communicated to BGB.

On Saturday at about 10:30 am, a unit commander level meeting was held and the BGB handed over the snatched weapon with munitions to BSF.
