The lockdowns, being imposed in various parts of the world due to COVID19 pandemic, have brought a great change to the global economy, societies, and the education field.

In India, during lockdowns, the teachers have been offering online classes to their students so that they can learn their lessons staying at their homes.

In developed countries like China, the United States, and Japan, programmes of online classes are not new.

But in a developing country like India, the process of online classes can never be an alternative to physical classes, feel observers.

Due to COVID19 and the consequent lockdown, the schools, colleges, and universities are still remaining closed in India.

Besides, due to the delay and halt of examinations and evaluation processes, it seems the country might face loss of an academic session.

Due to the COVID19 pandemic, the authorities have not been able to conduct this year’s Combined Entrance Examination and Joint Entrance Examination till date.

The Assam CEE 2020, which was earlier scheduled to be held on August 2 under the Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU), has been postponed to September 20, 2020.

The postponement of the examination was announced by the ASTU in a fresh notification issued on July 21, 2020.

Now the students, who are preparing themselves for engineering or other technical courses, have faced major challenges.

There are possibilities of delay in the process of their admissions.

Question has been raised whether an academic session is going to be lost in such a way?

If anything such happens, it will be an irreparable loss for the students.
