With the death of one more positive person on Wednesday, the COVID19 death toll increased to 9 in Tripura while the state registered 126 new positive cases, taking the overall tally to 3,474.
On Tuesday, the state registered 254 positive cases.

On Wednesday, 107 other people, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have been discharged from the hospitals after they recovered from the disease.
While confirming the detection of the new positive cases on Wednesday, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status said a total of 3,051 samples were tested in the state on the day, out of which 126 were found positive for the virus.
“Alert! 126 people found COVID-19 positive out of 3051 samples tested,” chief minister Deb tweeted.

He said while 120 cases were found positive in Antigen test, 4 patients came in contact with positive cases.
The chief minister also informed that 2 of the infected patients are symptomatic.
“Unfortunately 1 COVID-19 positive patient died today,” Deb stated.

Maximum of the positive cases have been registered in West Tripura district.
Out of the 126 patients tested positive on Wednesday, 29 are from West Tripura district.
While 27 are from Gomati district, 24 are from Sepahijala, 18 are from Dhalai district, 17 are from North Tripura, 3 are from South Tripura, and 8 infected patients are from the Khowai district.
