People in hundreds have reportedly been admitted to the hospital in Assam’s Lanka after consuming “puja prasad”. 

Over 100 people have been admitted to the primary health centre and Lankeshwari hospital in Lanka town, Assam. 

While, 105 people are being treated at the primary health centre, another 15 are being treated at the Lankeshwari hospital in Lanka town. 

People including children reportedly fell sick soon after consuming prasad at a puja held at Rangmahala in Lanka.

However, the priest, who conducted the puja said that “it is not necessary that people fell sick after consuming prasad distributed in this puja. There were pujas held in nearby locations as well. So, it might be possible that these people had consumed prasad in those pujas also”. 

Reports say that people have been getting admitted to the primary health centre and Lankeshwari hospital in Lanka since Thursday afternoon.
