The Assam government has appointed Bhaskar Pegu , Joint Secretary to the Assam Home & Political department as Nodal Officer to coordinate with the National Commission for Women (NCW) in order to supervise acid attack cases, expeditious processing of cases concerning acid attacks and payment of victim compensation, etc.
