Prime Minister Narendra Modi faced black flag protest in Guwahati on second consecutive day on Saturday.

Modi was shown black flags in at least two places in Guwahati as a mark of protest against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.

As per reports, students of Gauhati University and Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (YJYCP) members waved black flags at 7th Mile area and at Machkhowa area of the city when PM Modi’s convoy was heading towards LGBI Airport from Raj Bhawan.

Guwahati police have detained several protesters in Jalukbari when they tried to show black flags before Modi’s convoy.

Three of the detained students have been identified as Pradip Kalita, Krishna Rai and Inamul Haque.

Amidst angry protest, Modi arrived in Guwahati on Friday evening on a two-day tour of the Northeast.

Slogans of “Modi go back, BJP murdabad’ were heard as activists stood by the roads waving black flags as PM Modi’s motorcade was heading to Raj Bhawan from the airport.

The Prime Minister faced black flag protest in Itanagar as well on Saturday.

Members of several organisations staged massive protests against Modi in Arunachal Pradesh’s capital city Itanagar. Members of the organisations waved black flags upon his arrival in Itangar and shouted slogans against him.

The students of Rajiv Gandhi University, North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) and Himalayan University also staged protest against the Prime Minister.
