Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced the abolition of licence requirements for petroleum products as part of the state governmentโs measures to improve the ease of doing business and attract investment.
Taking to X, Sarma said the government aims to create an environment where businesses can operate in Assam in a โhassle-free and rewardingโ manner.
According to the Chief Minister, the initiative extends beyond regulatory reforms under the Ease of Doing Business framework, with the government also offering incentives aimed at encouraging businesses and boosting investment in the state.
The removal of the licensing requirement is expected to reduce regulatory procedures for businesses dealing with petroleum products and make it easier for them to operate in Assam.
Sarma reiterated that the state government is focused on building a business-friendly ecosystem to facilitate investment, support entrepreneurship and promote economic activity across Assam.
