Police have arrested a 30-year-old man from Tamulpur area in Baksa district for uploading obscene pictures of his ‘ex-girlfriend’ on a social networking site.
A case was registered in Patacharkuchi police station on July 13 on the basis of a complaint lodged by the woman and the man, who hails from Nagaon, was arrested on Saturday.

The arrested accused has been identified as Nipon Bora. A case (no 456/18) has been registered against him at Patacharkuchi Police station under section 498 (A) 315/500 IPC R/W section 67 of IT Act.
The girl from Natun Belona village under Patacharkuchi police station in Barpeta district in her complaint said he had circulated her obscene pictures on social media.
She further stated that she got married to Nipon last year at Kamakhya temple and had been staying together in a rented accommodation in Pathsala since then.

Police officials said Nipon dumped her recently following some issues cropped up between the duo and he had never contacted her since then.
Police said Nipon created a fake Facebook account in the name of the girl and uploaded her some nude pictures along with her phone number.
The girl started getting calls from her friends as the photographs were uploaded from her account.
Arrested Nipon said that the girl, to whom he came into contract through phone call and subsequently developed an intimate relation, lied to him that she was unmarried.
“When I got to know that she had already married and had an affair with a guy, I immediately snapped my ties with her. She used to send obscene photos to me and lied that she was unmarried,” arrested Nipon told Northeast Now.
Police have seized the mobile phone of the arrested youth. The accused was taken in police custody from Tamulpur on Saturday and was produced in court in Pathsala. He has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.
