It’s a proud moment for city girl Shivangi Thakuria, 23, who has made to the finalist list of Rubaru Miss India Elite 2019, as reported by The Sentinel. Daughter of Pradip Thakuria and Pranami Thakuria, Shivangi is confidently thrilled to be part of the beauty pageant the finale of which is going to be held on March 17 in Delhi.
An MBA student International Institute of Management Studies, Pune, Shivangi is the only contestant from Assam to be representing the state in the pageant.
“This is not just a beauty pageant but a beauty pageant for a cause. This theme of Rubaru Miss India Elite 2019 this year is ‘Stop Female Foeticide’ and I am extremely humbled to represent Assam,” said Shivangi in a statement.
Elite Miss India is a platform where young talents from the India can look forward to explore their talents, skills and nurture their myriad hidden qualities other than physical beauty alone.
The main motto of Elite Miss India is to spread awareness against female foeticide. The pageant is focused on the mission to raise awareness about how killing a female child for the desire to exclusively have a boy child is ethically wrong.
The winners of the pageant take up the task of travelling across the country to spread awareness against female foeticide through various seminars, camps and campaigns.
