Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen, who is associated with the initiative SORAI (save our Rhino’s in Africa and India) expressed his anguish at the recent rhino killing at the park.

On May 11, poachers killed a male rhino by chopping off its horn. The rhino which was a 30 years old male had several bullets holes. The incident happened at the Chirakhowa anti poaching camp near Brahmaputra river bank of the National Park. This is the fourth rhino that has been killed this year.
This is not the first time the former England cricketer has raised the issue of the rhino poaching this year. Last year
His tweet garnered a lot of attention on social media. Posted on May 14, the tweet garnered much attention on social media and has over 1500 re-tweets and around 4000 likes.
People complimented the cricketer for voicing his thoughts.
Earlier in the year, the former England batsman highlighted the “poaching issue” at the Kaziranga national park. “I’m led to believe there’s poaching issues in Kaziranga National Park of rhinos…! You know that YOU can help! I’ll help too!” the star cricketer had tweeted.
His website SORAI says “KP has been a passionate advocate of this serious environmental issue and has dedicated his public image and global identity to this issue to support the wellbeing of these beautiful animals, a significant contributor to tourism in both countries,”.
