The 45th COVID-19 patient of Assam, who was tested positive in Cachar on Wednesday, originally hails from Kochgaon in Sonitpur district.
Sources said that a bus, full of pilgrim stranded in Ajmer in Rajasthan, reached Silchar on Wednesday morning.
The man, who was supposed to get down in Guwahati, however, remained seated in the bus for reasons unknown and he reached Silchar.

As per reports, the man came in contact with a number of individuals including his family members.
Presently he is undergoing treatment at Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH).
“He was experiencing fever and cough during the bus journey,” sources informed.
“Each traveller were found asymptomatic and they sent for home quarantine after screening. However, this man from Tezpur tested positive,” sources added.
